It's all over!

The Tolkien and Middle-earth fan programming track at Dragoncon was proposed as a 1- to 2-year project. We had a very successful run and appreciate all the support and interest we received from the fans and media. Dragoncon may not be finished with Tolkien and Middle-earth, however. The track may return in 2002 under new direction. In the event that happens, Xenite.Org will happily point you to the new track Web site (if there is one) when that becomes available.

In the meantime, please feel free to read our convention reports, which were posted at Xenite.Org's Lord of the Rings movie news site.

  1. September 8, 2001 -- Thank you, Del Rey books, for Hobbit book prizes

  2. September 4, 2001 -- Wrapup on Dragoncon's Tolkien and Middle-earth track

  3. September 2, 2001 -- Sideshow and Decipher wow them at Dragoncon

  4. September 2, 2001 -- Radagast to be in the movie after all?

  5. September 2, 2001 -- Kids win big at Dragoncon

We would also like to thank the representatives of Decipher, Inc., Sideshow * Weta Collectibles, and Games Workshop for attending the 2001 convention and sitting on panels. Other panelists included Karen and Joe McCullough, Will Kenyon, and actor John Rhys-Davies. TheOneRing.Net also gave a fantastic presentation despite occasional technical difficulties, and they ran their own show throughout the convention at their fan table.

J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, adapted by Charles Dixon and Sean Deming, with illustrations by David WenzelDel Rey Books, a division of Random House, contributed five copies of the newly re-published Hobbit graphic novel, with illustrations by David Wenzel, as prizes for Xenite.Org to give away. We gave them to fans at the convention. Thank you, Del Rey/Random House.

Special thanks to Theonering.Net and TolkienOnline.Com for their help with the track at Dragoncon 2000.
