Nigel Thornicroft, working as a grip on Peter Jackson's 'The Lord of the Rings' production, has taken the top slot in Wellington's Active Music Video Awards, according to The Otago Daily Times.

A recent graduate of the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch, Thornicroft has spent the last year in Wellington. He produced the video for the song "Kipiel", which his brother's band Suka wrote and performed.

The video description in the ODT article says a man rows a boat out to sea, catches a fish, and the fish fills the boat with blood.

Thornicroft won a digital camera for the effort, after the audience selected his video as the best in the competition.
