SciFi Dimensions covers LOTR movies with Brad Dourif and Sir Ian McKellen - Lord of the Rings news - J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings

Like many general science fiction Web sites, SciFi Dimensions maintains a small Lord of the Rings movie page. They recently posted a new article reviewing Brad Dourif's talks at Dragoncon.

The Dourif article doesn't reveal anything significant not posted elsewhere but provides a concise summary of Dourif's comments from throughout the convention. A few small snippets of information which escaped other convention reports we have read may be found in the article.

Back in April SciFi Dimensions received a personal dispatch from Sir Ian McKellen, who revealed he did not have to audition for the role of Gandalf. Peter Jackson went to McKellen directly. McKellen, who had never worked with Jackson before, based his decision to play Gandalf on the strength of the screenplay.

It looks like they have a picture of Dourif taken at Dragoncon accompanying the article.
