Tehanu's on the case! - Lord of the Rings news - J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings
August 03, 2000 at 22:40:56Sometimes it just pays to live in New Zealand. TheOneRing.Net's Tehanu has been following the court proceedings relating to LOTRgate.
Several men have been arrested and charged with various crimes relating to a scheme to acquire and sell secret video footage from Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" movies, as well as to launder the money they hoped to earn from their Orcish machinations. Two of the men have already appeared in court and the third one had his (first) day to defend himself.
After identifying the accused Tehanu nonchalantly sat down next to him and watched the day's proceedings unfold. More coverage is promised next week.
