It seems the "Thirteen Days" producers decided to dump a love story and focus more on the actual drama of the Cuban Missile Crisis itself (note: Xenite.Org's Michael Martinez has a CMC connection -- his father was sent to Guantanamo Base as part of a Spanish-language speaking army force prepared for "interaction" with the Cubans, but the orders never came through, fortunately).
MSNBC and Newsweek have posted a review of the upcoming film's own stormy history. The project cost $80,000,000.00 (US -- maybe $150,000,000.00 New Zealand). Kevin Costner stars in the major-budget drama.
"This is a movie that will make people think hard," they say. But will people be thinking about what Costner's film has to say or the trailer that Tolkien fans want to see?
