Sir Ian McKellen updates Grey Books with tons of movie news - Lord of the Rings news - J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings

Get over to http://www.mckellen.com/cinema/lotr/000808.htm right now and read the latest entry in the Grey Books. Sir Ian tells us his impression of Sir Ian Holm (who plays Bilbo in Peter Jackson's 'The Lord of the Rings') movies, and he confirms in no uncertain terms the fact that the Grey Havens sequence has been filmed.

Cate Blanchett, unfortunately, was not present when the departure over Sea was filmed, but Sir Ian assures us that Galadriel will take ship with Gandalf, Bilbo, and the Elves.

And with respect to the Wizard on a stake photo that has had fandom buzzing for a day, Sir Ian confirms the picture is real, but it's not either him or Christopher Lee (which we had already surmised here at Xenite.Org).

He circumspectly neglects to mention whether it is supposed to be Gandalf or Saruman, but we're pretty sure that it is supposed to be Saruman.
