Cirdan says New Line teasing fans with Wizard-on-a-stake photo - Lord of the Rings news - J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings
August 17, 2000 at 15:14:20Xenite.Org and other Web sites reported that a New Zealand newspaper had published a picture of an impaled wizard. The photograph has generated a lot of discussion on the Internet.
Now Cirdan says it's a fake from New Line Cinema. He told Tolkien-Movies.Com that the scene was staged deliberately to give Internet spies something to talk about.
