The harp, named Tara Leprechaun, was selected for possible use in scenes with hobbits, and the craftsman is hoping to recognize it in a scene from one of the upcoming movies.
"They (Hobbits) have parties at night and they all sit around campfires and sing songs," he told the newspaper. We don't recall any campfire singalongs in the literary story, but perhaps some of the early scenes, before the hobbits fully realized their peril and engaged in a few road songs, have been adapted for the cinematic tale.
The harp was mostly associated with Elves and Men (particularly the Dunedain and other men of Edainic descent, such as the Rohirrim) by Tolkien.
