First of all, there is no character in The Lord of the Rings who goes by the name of Morwen, so don't waste your time scouring the index for the name. There was a queen of Rohan named Morwen. Thengel, Theoden's father, spent many years in Gondor and he married Morwen of Lossarnach (who was descended from the Lords of Dol Amroth).
Hence, by the time of the War of the Ring, the name of "Morwen" could have become popular among the Rohirrim, especially if Thengel's queen was popular among them. Coming from one of the nobler families of Gondor, which had retained the ancient dignity of the Dunedain, Morwen probably would have conducted herself well among the Rohirrim. Theoden himself, after all, was very popular with his people.
There is no canonical basis for the character Robyn Malcolm is playing except by extension. That is to say, the character will serve to make the suffering the people of Westfold more real and personal for the movie audience. The Rohirrim won't just be nameless faces in the background. It may prove to be a good passage in the second movie.
