Company of the Ring posts video clips from ball, court cases - Lord of the Rings news - J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings

Scooping everyone on the Net once again, The Company of the Ring (formerly known as Tol Galen) has posted two video clips for fans to enjoy.

The first video clip is taken from a news report on the Hollywood Ball at the Queenstown Winterland Festival in New Zealand. Elijah Wood answers a few questions and reports that they still have five months of principal photography left, which agrees with statements made by Brad Dourif and Karl Urban at Dragoncon.

A recent rumor at Dark Horizons states that filming is expected to continue through April 2001, but an anonymous poster on Xenite.Org's White Council who claims to monitor Web sites on behalf of the film production has cautioned fans to not believe all the Internet rumors, most of which (Mr. X says) are definitely false.

The second video clip provides footage from news coverage of LOTR-gate, the unfolding drama in which 3 individuals have been arrested and charged with various crimes related to theft of top secret footage from Peter Jackson's three-film production of "The Lord of the Rings". The report says that police have finished their investigation into the crime ring.

The Company of the Ring has also posted a few still captures of the stars at the Hollywood Ball (with much better visual quality than the RealMedia clip provides). Visitors will have to download RealPlayer if they don't have software which can handle the file format. RealPlayer is a free tool.
