New Karl Urban article on Weekender Web site - Lord of the Rings news - J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings

Karl Urban fans will appreciate the opportunity to read a little more about the actor selected to play Eomer in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" movies.

Weekender New Zealand has posted a brief profile of the actor, mostly repeating information already available on the Internet.

Urban was recently nominated for Best Actor in the New Zealand Film Awards for his role in "The Price of Milk", his latest feature film to be released. We have no information on whether the film will be distributed internationally.

Urban is currently developing a new television series called The Privateers, which he hopes will go into production later this year for distribution starting in the fall of 2001. He described the show as "pirates in space" to fans at Dragoncon.

Urban is best known to the international community as the actor who played Cupid and Julius Caesar on several seasons of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. The television shows have been distributed to more than 60 countries together.
