Parma Endorion surpasses 100,000 downloads

Parma Endorion: Essays on Middle-earth, 3rd edition, was downloaded more than 24,500 times in the month of September.

The popular eBook, named by the eBooks'n'bytes newsletter as the top download of 2002, has been downloaded more than 120,000 times so far this year.

Comprised of essays written by Xenite.Org founder Michael Martinez, edited by Matt Tinaglia, and including artwork from Anke Eissman and Rich Sullivan, Parma Endorion has realized an overwhelmingly supportive response from the online Tolkien fan community.

Martinez also writes monthly essays for the popular Suite101 Tolkien and Middle-earth topic, where he has been a contributing since 1998. Eissman and Sullivan have featured their artwork on popular fan sites such as Tolkien Online and TheOneRing.Net.

Despite a lack of recent promotional efforts for the eBook, Parma Endorion enjoyed its most active day on September 10, when 4516 copies were downloaded from Free-eBooks.Net. Another 3205 copies were downloaded on September 11. The heightened interest in Tolkien and Middle-earth on one of the saddest anniversaries in North American history is hard to overlook.

In other recent developments, the Spanish language translation has finally been completed and received. If all goes according to plan, Parma Endorion en Espanol should be available for download sometime in November. The Spanish-language edition will also include the artwork by Eissman and Sullivan and is being prepared by Matt Tinaglia.
