Houston fans gathering for December 17 line party

December 05, 2002 at 04:27:21

Over 1,000 fans turned out for 2001's Houston line party. We're expecting at least as many for the 2002 line party.

Thenamir is organizing the Houston Line Party event again this year. He did a fantastic job for the opening of "The Fellowship of the Ring" in 2001 and we expect to have a great time again for the opening of "The Two Towers".

Advance tickets are on sale now. The AMC GULF POINTE 30 theater (located in south Houston near the interchange of Sam Houston Beltway 8 and I-45) has allocated two screens for the midnight (12:01 AM) showing of the movie. Be there on Tuesday evening, December 17.

You can go to Moviewatcher.com and type in the 77089 zip code for the theater. You'll be redirected to MovieTickets.Com's Web site. BUT WAIT. If you have not joined AMC's MovieWatcher program, DO THAT FIRST. You'll get discounts on concessions and occasional freebies, including tickets, concession packages, and more. It's a great deal with no obligation or special membership requirements. You also save 50 cents per ticket in online service fees each time you buy AMC movie tickets online.

Using the online ticket purchasing service helps you bypass the long cold wait in outdoor ticket lines (normally -- the Houston Line Party will still begin outside the theater).

Thenamir is also trying to organize a Bookstore Day at a local Barnes and Noble. He needs to have 20 people sign up for the Line Party (that means, you must be brave and let people know you're coming!).

Xenite.Org founder Michael Martinez, author of the immensely popular Parma Endorion: Essays on Middle-earth, 3rd edition eBook and Visualizing Middle-earth, will be attending this year's line party.

We're looking forward to seeing a lot of great fans at this year's movie opening in Houston!
