Tolkien fans meeting up on 2nd Thursday of each month...

Tolkien fans around the world are organizing local gatherings on a monthly basis with the help of Meetup.Com.

Used by professional and informal groups to select and vote upon meeting venues such as local restaurants and cafes, Meetup.Com has been slowly building a database of enthusiasts for numerous topics around the world. Many American fans have been getting together to discuss Tolkien and Middle-earth topics. At this writing, about 40 people have signed up for the Houston are LoTR Meetup.

Xenite.Org will be checking out the Houston LoTR Meetup, to be held at the Green Planet Vegetarian Cafe (9013 Westheimer, Houston, TX) on Thursday, May 8, at 7PM. We'll let you know what we find out.

It's always a good idea, when meeting new groups of people, to go with a friend. That way, you'll feel more comfortable until you get to know the others.
