Michael Martinez launches official Web site

Michael Martinez, founder of Xenite.Org and author of several books on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, has launched his new official Web site.

http://www.michael-martinez.com/ is the new official "home site" for Michael Martinez. The site includes a brief biography of Michael's professional work, as well as sections with background material and interesting anecdotes regarding each of his books (Visualizing Middle-earth, Parma Endorion: Essays on Middle-earth, 3rd Edition, and Understanding Middle-earth: Essays on J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.

Visualizing Middle-earth, published by Xlibris in October 2000, continues to be a popular book among Tolkien fans around the world. Parma Endorion, with more than 600,000 downloads, has proven to be one of the most popular eBooks of all time. An Italian translation is in preparation and its release should be announced later this year.

Michael has been promoting Understanding Middle-earth since before its publication in November 2003. He has appeared on television, radio, and in person at numerous book signings. The new official Web site includes pictures from some of Michael's appearances on the Understanding Middle-earth Book Tour. More appearances are scheduled in the Houston area over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Martinez began writing a popular column on Tolkien and Middle-earth at Suite101 in 1999. He has since moved on to contributing essays to MERP.COM.
