Eugene Hargrove to lecture at Dallas Symphony LoTR performances

Dr. Eugene Hargrove, whose essays on music and poetry in Middle-earth have earned recognition among Tolkien fans around the world, will be a guest lecturer for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at their October 7 and 8 peformances of Howard Shore's 'Lord of the Rings' music.

The Dallas Symphony is peforming Howard Shore's award-winning score from the Peter Jackson "Lord of the Rings" movies at Meyerson Center in downtown Dallas, TX on Thursday, October 7, and illustrations and storyboards graphics from Weta Workshop's artistic staff and scenes from the movies. More than 200 musicians will be performing.

Dr. Hargrove, Professor and Chair at the Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies for the University of North Texas, has earned widespread recognition among Tolkien fans around the world for his essays on music and poetry in Middle-earth. Dr. Hargrove will give introductory lectures to the audience prior to each performance.
