Verlyn Flieger to speak at Frank Collection Fantasy Art Exhibit in Maryland, Novermber 12

Verlyn Flieger, author of Splintered Light, will be speaking at the Frank Collection Art Exhibit at the University of Maryland on Friday, November 12.

Flieger, author of several books on Tolkien's Middle-earth, is perhaps best known for Splintered Light: Logos and Languages in Tolkien's World. Her most recent book on Tolkien is A Question of Time: J.R.R. Tolkien's Road To Faerie.

Flieger is also the author of a novel, Pig Tale, which draws on Celtic mythology and folklore. She is a specialist in comparative mythology and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Celtic, Arthurian, Hindu, Native American, and Norse myth at the University of Maryland.

Flieger is a founding editor of Tolkien Studies, an annual journal of Tolkien scholarship.
