Bruce Campbell had already enchanted fans as the irrascible Ash in the "Evil Dead" films, as Brisco County, Jr., and as Autolycus, King of Thieves on both
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and
Xena: Warrior Princess.
When an opportunity to develop a new television show in New Zealand appeared after the shutdown of the
Hercules and
Xena franchise, Bruce seized the chance. Angela Dotchin joined him but alas! their adventures lasted only one season. The show as great, campy, fun, and entertaining. It deserved better.
