We respect the privacy of individuals who visit our Web sites and participate in our mailing lists and discussion forums. This policy statement explains what information we collect and how we use it.

You do not have to register or create any sort of account with Xenite.Org in order to read our content. We do offer public mailing lists which require that you subscribe to them by submitting a valid email address to our mail server. Some Xenite.Org mailing lists are created as a courtesy to third parties who are otherwise uninvolved with the ownership and/or administration of Xenite.Org. Effective December 15, 2004, SF-FANDOM restricts all posting privileges in our forums to registered members only. These individuals agree to abide by the policies we set with respect to acceptable usage and behavior and protecting the privacy of individuals.

Xenite.Org does not disclose mailing list subscriptions or forum registrations to third parties. We do not sell private information or use it for unsolicited advertising. Where a mailing list is administered by a private individual, we require that they abide by this policy. Any abuse of a mailing list by an administrator should be immediately reported to The Xenite.Org Administrators. Abuse of a mailing list by its administrator includes but is not limited to disclosing of private information to third parties or selling or otherwise making available to third parties the mailing list subscription information. Mailing list administrators set the policies for content and discussion of their lists within the guidelines they agreed to in entering into a relationship of courtesy with Xenite.Org.

Although we may elect at any time to use software for Web-based discussion forums which requires user registration, we will not disclose your private information to third parties or sell that information. Such registration may require that you provide a valid email address. Our forums may also, at our discretion, make use of software which requires cookies. A cookie is a unique identifier which is stored on your computer in order to "remind" software on a server of who you are in that server's experience. Some services record cookies for sales transactions or to track user browsing habits. Xenite.Org does not record cookies or store information on your browsing habits, except as occurs through normal Web server activity logging.

Web servers record the IP address, location of the previous page you visited, the time of your visit to a specific Web page, location of that Web page on the server, and the type of browser you are using. This information is not normally disclosed to third parties but Xenite.Org reserves the right to disclose such information to Internet Service Providers and/or Law Enforcement Agencies if, in our opinion, your behavior is abusive. Abusive behavior includes launching technical attacks against our server (called Denial-of-Service attacks), attacking or otherwise harrassing members of our forums, or theft of content and/or services from our Web sites.

Xenite.Org may elect, from time to time, to disclose aggregate information such as numbers of unique visitors, page views, and other statistically useful information to third parties. Such disclosrue does not include email addresses or other private information of individuals.

Xenite.Org will not collect your email address or other private information from you in the normal course of our operations. We may elect to offer polls and surveys or other services which collect or require some private information. These services are offered in good faith and not for the purpose of collecting information about you, unless otherwise stated. Some services may be offered through third-party providers (called "remote hosting" or "remotely hosted services") and are subject to the rules, restrictions, and applications as established by those third parties. Xenite.Org, in making use of such services, cannot provide any warranties or guarantees that your privacy will not be compromised or violated. We urge our visitors to use caution and common sense when interacting with any Internet-based service.

Xenite.Org may elect, at any time, to offer merchandise to its visitors or to sell items through referral programs. Sales transcations usually require that private information (such as name, mailing address, credit card or other exchange medium information) be provided. Xenite.Org does not at this time handle its own transactions directly. Instead we utilize third-party services which offer secure transaction processing but we cannot provide any warranties or guarantees that your private information will not be compromised or misused in any way. Because credit cards and banking accounts are not normally extended to or administered by minors (people under the age of 18 years) Xenite.Org holds the reasonable expectation that only adults or children under adult supervision engage in any business transactions through our Web sites or links provided on our sites. We cannot be held responsible for for misuse of parents' information by children and urge all parents to ensure that their children surf the Web safely.

To protect your privacy, and to nurture the relationship we hope that you will establish with our domain through repeat visits and participation in our forums, we make the following guarantees. However, we reserve the right to change this policy at any time:

1. Any email addresses and names submitted to us will NOT be used for commercial unsolicited email (that is, we will not attempt to sell you anything through email).
   
   
2. We will NOT provide lists of addresses and names to other domains which are not allied with us.
   
   
3. Domains which are allied with us will at the very least respect our privacy policy as far as any information they get through Xenite.Org resources.
   
   
4. Xenite.Org will respect the privacy policies of other domains with which we are allied, and those policies may be more restrictive than our own.
