Currently, we only have two channels, Xenite.Org NetRock and Xenite.Org NetCountry. We hope to add a jazz channel soon, and subsequently another rock channel (and possibly another pop channel after that).

The service works well enough for low-bandwidth users (28.8K connections or higher). Although we provide fairly complete lists of artists on our page, we cannot guarantee that any particular artists will be used for a playset. Sonicnet provides a ranking system which lets us increase or decrease the chances of a particular artist being included, but the system is required to select artists on a more-or-less random basis.

Depending on how your browser window is configured, you may be able to move back and forth through the play list. You can, however, skip songs you don't want to hear. Occasionally net congestion may cause songs to stop playing but they usually pick up right where they left off.

Sonicnet's service is a streaming audio feed. It is best not to engage in heavy input/output activities, like IRC or javachat, while listening to the channels -- at least on low-bandwidth systems. Broadband users may have greater leeway as far as mixing and matching services, but the Windows operating system may also run out of resources. It may be best to reboot your PC just before listening to the channel (so you should bookmark our NetRadio page) and maybe once every four to six hours if you listen to a lot of music while you surf or work on something on your PC.
