Short addresses for the SF-FANDOM forums

Remembering all those long URLs for the forums is an icky process. And those of you who have been with us for a couple of years know we change forum software and servers like models change clothes for a fashion show.

Well, even though Xenite.Org's own forwarding pages will always work, we have created short URL/forwarding pages for SF-FANDOM on SF-FANDOM itself.

Please feel free to browse http://www.sf-fandom.com/vb/short-addys.html to see what the forwarding pages are named. Normally, you would find these links through a search engine. But now you can cut and paste them into your browser window. You can create a link in your Favorites menu and then change the properties to use the short address.

And while we've been creating short addresses for the forums, we've also begun creating home pages for them. The first forum homepage is http://www.sf-fandom.com/vb/mythology_folklore/boars_helm/beowulf.html.

The Boar's Helm Pub is home to a small but growing group of enthusiasts and experts who are devoted to the classic Anglo-Saxon epic poem "Beowulf">. The new home pages gives this forum its own little corner in which visitors can learn more about what the forum is intended for. Other forums will soon get their own homepages, too.
