What we have been up to...

We have received many inquiries about some of our more popular Web sites. Here is a brief explanation of why you have seen so few updates, and of what to expect in the next few weeks.

We have regrettably lost our editor for The History of Xena: Warrior Princess. Cassandra has submitted many narratives for posting, but we just don't have the resources to get them online now. If anyone would like to help out, please contact Michael Martinez. We would like to release an eBook edition of this long-running project, but until we can complete the narrative history, we are unable to go forward with that task.

Many people have written to us about the White Cheese Dip pages. Yes, we know that H.E.B. may now be carrying the Asadero cheese in Texas. There is other news to share, and we are waiting to hear back from some folks who wrote to us. We do plan to post an update...SOON.

The Webring applications are now being processed only once a month. We would like to review them more often, but have been unable to make time for that. We're down to one person reviewing Webring applications. If you have a big heart and don't mind looking at a LOT of Web sites, and still have the courage to tell people their sites are inappropriate for inclusion in various Webrings, please feel free to contact Michael Martinez. We did, however, just process a few dozen applications this past weekend.

The Reciprocal Links program is alive and well, but we will probably only update it about once a month for the foreseeable future. The same is also true of The Message Board Directory. We may update these sites twice a month, depending on number of submissions. We are unable, at this time, to check for dead links. We know this can be a problem. We're just very, very swamped right now.

The Internet Authors Network will soon introduce another free promotional service for authors. It is currently in beta testing. Many hopeful authors, however, seem to misunderstand what we are doing. We cannot (yet) accept and distribute press releases. Nor do we publish books, so there is no point in asking us to look at your manuscripts.

There is indeed a problem with the Andromeda Fan Fiction submission service. This, however, has turned out to be a low priority item. We regret the inconvenience some of you have experienced. We do not have an estimate of when you'll be able to submit fan fiction to the archive again. The Andromeda Fan Fiction Archive remains open for your reading pleasure. In the meantime, we'd like to remind people that SF-FANDOM has an active Fan Fiction Forum.

We recently took down our Brilliant Digital Webisode pages. It appears that Brilliant Digital changed their service links and never notified us of where to download the new service links. When they failed to respond to our inquiry, we decided to just discontinue the service. We apologize for any inconvenience visitors may have experienced due to the dead links and/or our decision to severe the relationship with Brilliant Digital Entertainment.

New projects are on the drawing boards, but because of all the technical issues we have had to deal with in the past few months, and due to other demands on our time, those projects have all been deferred indefinitely. That just means it will take us longer to bring them to fruition. We strive to keep the content on Xenite.Org fresh and interesting, but it has gotten to be a rather large task. And, sadly, our next top priority will be to....

Replace all those "Contact Us!" email links throughout Xenite.Org. Spammers have become so abusive in collecting every email address they can find on Web pages that we are going to remove them all from Xenite.Org as soon as possible. But you'll still be able to contact us. We have not yet worked out all the details of how we'll do this.
