HTML Page Translation service links updated
June 10, 2000 at 22:27:37Alta Vista recently modified their Babelfish translation service and upgraded to a different type of software. As a result, the URL for their service has changed and all of Xenite.Org's dynamic translation links were rendered obsolete, although not completely useless.
The new translation service resides at http://babelfish.altavista.com/translate.dyn and if you are directed to the old service by a Xenite.Org page Alta Vista has put up a forwarding notice.
The Babelfish service has often been the source of much amusement in the international community because its translations can render simple sentences virtualy unintelligible. Nonetheless, it remains the best of the several Internet translators that we have evaluated.
Xenite.Org will continue to make use of free page translation service as long as there seems a practical need for it. Around 1,000 Xenite.Org pages are translated through Babelfish each week.
We regret the inconvenience that our delay in updating the links has caused our visitors and we hope to complete the upgrade in a matter of days.
