June 12, 2000 at 06:34:35Weekends are always a bit slow but we managed to scarf up some background information on Robyn Malcolm, the latest actress to cause a stir among Tolkien movie news sites, and Seamus Heaney's award-winning translation of "Beowulf".
Malcolm has only a small role in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" but she's a popular actress in New Zealand (and Fiji!) who should do well whatever role she is given.
Heaney continues a long tradition of bringing the ancient "Beowulf" poem to life for modern audiences with a new modern English translation that has taken the literary world by storm. He has also recorded an abridged version of his translation on CD.
