Google has released a new tool called Web Accelerator. This tool pre-fetches content from Web servers in a misguided effort to speed up the surfing experience for people. By pre-fetching content, Google is forcing Web servers around the world to feed its service content that no one may look at.

This practice places an unnecessary load on server performance and bandwidth, neither of which Google is paying for at least as far as Xenite.Org and its network are concerned. We are therefore blocking all access to our server from Google's Web accelerator service.

While this decision may inconvenience people who decide to use the Web Accelerator to enhance their surfing experience, we will not tolerate this kind of abuse from Google. They are already forcing us to use preventive measures to keep them from altering the content of our pages in your browsers.

While we understand Google's need to remain competitive, we feel they are using unethical and morally unsupportable methods to achieve competitive strength. They are in effect robbing us of content, server performance, and bandwidth. If we were talking about email or news group messages, we would be discussing SPAM, MALICIOUS FORGERY, and THEFT OF SERVICES.

We will be removing Google search boxes and advertisements from our sites as soon as possible. We have had enough of Google.
