One of the most immediate and recent changes is that we have now divided our site map into two pages. Xenite.Org was one of the first mega sites in science fiction fandom to adopt the practice of including a site map for visitors' easy convenience, but we have so much content to point you to, we feel it's better to just break out the site map into two pages.
We also recently updated the VBulletin software for the Science Fiction and Fantasy Forums at SF-FANDOM. The new VBulletin interface introduces some improvements, but we've still noticed occasional glitches. We are considering changing out the software for another forum package, probably in December or January.
Michael has also launched a new blog, Google says..., a source of commentary and anlaysis of things said by Google or its employees. Postings will be somewhat irregular but you should see 1 or 2 per week.
Michael continues to share stories and anecdotes, as well as occasional analyses and commentaries at his semi-official blog. The blog now contains over 100 posts, many of them essay-length discussions of events in Michael's life, some political events (including a recent somewhat light-hearted look at the mean face of American foreign policy).
Xenite.Org will also be discontinuing most of its affiliate program participation, just as soon as we find time to clean up the Web pages. While we do appreciate your support through the years, we have noticed steadily declining revenues from even our popular poster store pages. The task of keeping all the affiliate links current is just too much trouble. We'll find another way to pay our server fees. Perhaps we'll experiment with customized Xenite.Org and SF-FANDOM merchandise again.
And March 14, 2007 marks the 10-year anniversary of Xenite.Org's operation on the Web. We're planning some special, special content and hopefully can put everything into place.
Stay tuned. There's more coming!
