The theater began accepting tickets for the midnight showings before 9PM. People sat in the lobby or waited out in front of the theater until about 9:30 PM, when the manager opened up Theater 15, the first of 7 screening rooms which were used to show "The Two Towers" starting at 12:01 AM December 18. The theater only had five prints available, so they had to resort to what they call "syncing", where as soon as a reel was finished in one projection room, it was rewound and carried to the next.

Approximately 600 people were seated in Theater 15. The audience waited patiently for about 2-1/2 hours while Thenamir and his family provided entertainment. Although many seats look empty in these photos, the house was packed. Many people were standing along the walls or moving around.

It wasn't all just fun and games. A little romance may have been floating in the air as Elven magic spread through the evening. Or maybe this guy just had to scratch the side of his head...

Galadriel finds a quiet seat in the upper section while some of her adoring fans (Elves in disguise, perhaps?) smile for the camera. A few lucky souls (including our very own photographer) got in early enough to grab choice seats with plenty of leg-room.

These lovely ladies spent an enjoyable evening chatting together. They only met at the dinner party, but it turned out they had all come from the same neighborhood (about an hour's drive away). Hey, nice digital camera, Red! Arwen, don't get too comfy. There's a costume contest in your future....
