Vince wanted to run a game called "Who wants to be a Wizard". Michael was (reluctantly) going to serve as the universal Lifeline for people who got stuck on questions. Fortunately for our boy researcher (who hadn't brought his COMPLEAT Tolkien Library with him), Vince decided he was having enough trouble yelling out to the audience that he didn't need to ask other people to do so. Next year, we'll bring that Mr. Microphone (or maybe just a megaphone) so Vince doesn't wear himself out trying to get people in the upper rows to BE QUIET!
Vince had them lined up from wall to wall, hoping for a chance to take home some prizes. Most of the trivia questions were pretty easy, but every now and then someone would get a little too confident and would forget something obvious, like, "What was Bilbo Baggins' last name?" (Pssst. There was no gardener in The Hobbit!)
That guy in the dark shirt (the curly-headed dude looking toward Vince) actually did pretty good. He almost won the contest. And who did win? Well, our photographer was deeply immersed in conversation with a lovely lady when Vince announced Lisa or someone as the winner (sorry, hon -- it was bad timing).
