Xenite.Org's Tribute to Xena

The History of Xena: Warrior Princes is older than Xenite.Org, having begun as a light-hearted news group posting in 1996 that evolved into a periodic update to help new fans catch up on episodes in the second season of Xena: Warrior Princes. Although The History of Xena: Warrior Princes was launched as an independent Web site in late 1996 it was one of four foundational Web sites that were brought together in March 1997 to create Xenite.Org.

Through the years many people have volunteered to help write and edit the episode summaries, but we regrettably lost the entire History of Xena site around 2003 to an infamous server crash which caught us without a reliable backup. We had to reconstruct all of Xenite.Org from old archives, and some content was completely lost forever. Some of the episode sumaries (all from Xena's sixth and final season) were irretrievably lost. Over half a season's hard work by our last team of volunteers vanished.

Heartbroken and somewhat daunted by the prospect of having to recreate more than 100 episode summaries, we left a brief notice in place for about 2 years, promising an eventual restoration for the History of Xena, possibly as an eBook. However, the amount of work entailed in creating the eBook was even more staggering than simply restoring old archive pages.

We reluctantly, after many months' of internal debate and contrition, restored an older version of The History of Xena: Warrior Princes with the intention of fixing several problems when we finally redesigned Xenite.Org. March 2007 marked Xenite.Org's 10th anniversary and we came into the year with high hopes and many plans. Instead, time and demands on our schedules have prevented us from rolling out the updates we have long wanted to implement.

Still, we have finally managed to find some time to at least pdate the look and presentation for the essays and articles that comprise what remains of The History of Xena: Warrior Princess. These pages represent the latest incarnation of the narrative history. Only a few minor textual corrections have been inserted. The navigational structure is very different from older versions. To find the episode lists just click on the Xena Adventures link above our masthead on any page.

If anyone would like to help rebuild the final season's narrative, please feel free to Contact Michael Martinez. We would welcome your help. Yes, Xena has been out of production for many years and fan passions are no longer as strong as they once were. But we have devoted as much time and effort to this particular section of Xenite.Org because it remains one of our all-time most popular sites.

Xenite.Org simply would not be Xenite.Org without Xena. We'll do our best to keep our Xena content safe and sound from future server problems. If nothing else, we owe you, our visitors, a great debt of thanks and gratitude for your support throughout the years. We would not still be here if you had stopped visiting our network.
